Tell us what you really think: Audrey Niffenegger

"I've got my little movie that runs in my head. And I'm kind of afraid that will be changed or wiped out by what somebody else might do with it. And it is sort of thrilling and creepy, because now the characters have an existence apart from me.”

  1. I think for any author it would be both thrilling and scary to have their work turned into a movie - thrilling because it's a huge compliment and testament to the work they have created and scary because they lose a certain amount of control and ownership over their characters etc.

I gotta say though I love Audrey Niffenegger and The Time Traveler's Wife is actually my favourite book. In saying that though I also loved the movie! That may have something to do with Rachel McAdams playing the role of Clare because I simply adore her!

I don't know if you've read it but Her Fearful Symmetry is also an amazing book by Audrey Niffengger and I'm hoping they turn it into a movie! I'd love to see it. I've written a review of the book on my blog.

    Really enjoying your site Danielle!

  2. Hi Megan! I've just stopped by your site again to track down your review of Her Fearful Symmetry. Yes, I've read it, and I loved it. However I didn't become as attached to the characters, as I did with Henry and Clare - like you, I just wanted to slap them most of the time!

I've been meaning to say thanks again for your guest review. It has been bringing so much traffic to my site - your followers are very loyal :)

  3. Oh that's great to hear! I'm glad it's attracted traffic for you!

I got your message about writing another guest post for The Help and I'd love to. I haven't actually watched the movie yet though so it might have to wait a while... how about sometime in the new year?
